Off To Heaven

Yes I'm off to the Heaven - Anfield! Will be back on 3 Jan 2007. I'll spend the last few hours of 2006 and welcome 2007 in the city Liverpool. Hopefully we get a good result against Bolton, but well I don't really care because I will be at Anfield!!! OMG, it's that Anfield!!! And I'll see those players with my own eyes!! Jesus, after that my mission is over, I can go back to Taiwan right away with no regret! Nah...calm down Amy, still have to finish my studying. Here I would like to wish all my friends and families a happy new year! Special thanks to people who still visit my blog like you, though I don't update that much these days. Believe me, I really appreciate it. Love you!

Regards,

Amy

Now Who's Unlucky

30 Dec 2006 Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool - EPL

BBC - Luis Garcia's strike earned Liverpool a third away win this season to take them up to fourth as Spurs were left to rue a host of missed chances late on - The winner owed much to an error from Didier Zokora, which led to Spanish striker Garcia sweeping in after Steven Gerrard had been gifted possession. Dirk Kuyt also came close, but a late Spurs assault so nearly bore fruit. Steve Finnan hit his own bar and Hossam Ghaly twice contrived to fire wide with the goal gaping, but the Reds held on.

Well, that's football. Spurs were really unlucky in the second half when we were like a different team from the first half. We were lucky to get away with it, but a goal is a goal, a win is a win!

'NO WAR', London Road, Brighton

I Cried

Six-year-old girl, Heather Martin -
When Are You Coming Home

The Story behind it...

My brother is in the army as well, but it's definitely not that hard compared to being in Iraq. Well, if the big China giant isn't suddently getting angry, I think he is safe anyway. And he takes breaks coming home every two weeks for 2 or 3 days. That's not bad, isn't it, and soon he'll withdraw from the army in Feb. I love this girl's song. It's so touching! NO WAR, PEACE!

[Lyrics]

You were almost sixteen when I came into the world.
Mom and Dad had you first then 3 more boys I'm the baby girl.
I sure have a lot to look up to in you, you're really smart and funny with a big heart too.
After one year of college you knew what you had to do.
It's just like you wanting to help with the war.
So you joined the army when I was only 4.
This time of year we talk of big plans but you're over seas in some distant land.
You can't be here for Christmas, I don't understand.

When are you coming home, Shaun?
When are you coming home?!
We lit up the house like we always do but it doesn't seem bright 'cause we can't have you.
In my prayers I ask God to keep you safe.
And I'm trying to be really brave.
Tell me that the fighting's through.
Come home! I really miss you.

It's hard to enjoy the holidays without you.
But we're so proud of you and all the red white and blue.
Remember that Jesus is your best friend,And someday our families will be together again.
Wow! You know we'll have a great big party then.

I want to show you how tall I've grown and introduce you to my new friends at school.
Maybe we could go and get some ice cream together but I really don't care what we do.

Absolutely Gutted

26 Dec 2006 Blackburn 1-0 Liverpool - EPL

Liverpoolfc.tv - Liverpool have lost for the first time in eight Premiership matches after a second half goal from Benni McCarthy gave Blackburn Rovers an unlikely 1-0 win in a game that the Reds dominated at Ewood Park on Boxing Day.

I was earlier whatching how unlucky Chelsea was. I laughed when they scored an own goal after leading Reading 2-1, and was so happy watching them struggling to score another to win the game. Since the own goal, Chelsea tried so hard and hurried by time because it's about 5 minutes left but that made Chelsea look even worse. I thought, 'come on Reading, keep the ball and waste the time!' Can't believe after that, I'm watching Liverpool doing this...traced by time and struggled to score... And Blackburn tried everything to waste time..

I feel sorry for Crouchy. He lost his starting chance when he's doing quite well, didn't he. Rafa chose to believe in Bellamy, and that's not a bad decision because Bellamy obviously didn't let him down. But that also means Crouchy or Kuyt should make the way for him. Kuyt, without a doubt, has been brilliant. He creats chances even though he's not scoring. So I can understand Rafa makes Kuyt and Bellamy regular start. But you can't expect Crouchy to come out from bench and make instant differences! He's desperated to get a goal now to fight for his place but has been really unlucky. Even worse, today he started in a game that Liverpool wasn't doing well. You can't blame him and you just feel really sorry for him.

Stay At Third Before Christmas

23 Dec 2006 Liverpool 2-0 Watford - EPL

BBC - Ben Foster made a series of saves to deny Liverpool in the first-half, though Watford had the best chance when Al Bangura volleyed over the bar. But early in the second half Bellamy sidefooted the ball home after good work by Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard. Late on subsitute Peter Crouch crashed a shot against the post, before Xabi Alonso's curling shot sealed the win.

Again..what a great lad Agger is! He had a great game!

Never Write Liverpool Off, Never

Messi: "Any rivals are dangerous in Europe at this time but Liverpool are a team that can be beaten by Barcelona. Lyon are the most difficult today. I expect an open game because the English play without defensive caution and with a style similar to Barcelona. Sincerely, I believe Liverpool are worried about playing against us because we are the champions of Europe and that strikes fear in any rivals. I desire to travel to Liverpool with much work done and holding an advantage to qualify for the next round. A 2-0 or 3-0 score will be perfect for Barca. Always, we need to not concede a goal in Camp Nou to avoid problems at Anfield.
"The Reds are a peculiar team. They play in England but the style of the coach and many of the players is nearly Spanish. This will be an extra problem for Barcelona."

If we have to be worried about playing against you because you're the champions of Europe, then you should be worred as well because we were the champions of Europe just a year before!! Come on, Messi, I used to like you!

Stevie: "I've never played against Ronaldinho before, apart from the Tsunami charity match in Barcelona a few years back. Obviously I'm a massive fan of how he plays the game, and I can't wait to face him. It will be great for all the fans to see a player of that quality at Anfield, but I'm hoping they don't get to see too much of his ability, because we'll be doing our best to keep him quiet. Before the draw was made, I don't think any of us were saying we wanted Barcelona, but since then I've been thinking how exciting it will be. I genuinely believe over two legs we can beat any side in the world, and it's definitely the case we can beat anyone at Anfield. But that's a long way off yet. There'll be plenty of time to think about that when the time's right, but there are a lot of important games to come before then."

11 Goals In 3 Games

16 Dec 2006 Charlton 0-3 Liverpool - EPL

BBC - A third-minute Xabi Alonso penalty gave the Reds the lead after Djimi Traore's high tackle on Jermaine Pennant. The visitors wasted plenty of chances and were almost punished when Hermann Hreidarsson shot over an empty net. Darren Ambrose and Darren Bent also gave the Reds late scares but a Craig Bellamy volley and Steven Gerrard curler secured a win for the visitors.

Rafa: "We have better balance now. We have the balance between defence and attack, we are creating a lot of chances and we don't give too many chances away It was a good game. We created a lot of opportunities and scored three goals, but we could have scored more. In the first 15 minutes we had five chances, but we needed that second goal. Normally in these games you can make a mistake and they can get a draw. We planned to use Bellamy's pace today and he was always a threat running at defenders and creating spaces for other players."

Bellamy: "We knew the second goal was vital. It took us a while to get it, but when we did we knew it was all over. While there was only one goal in it, it didn't matter that we were dominating and Charlton missed a good chance just before I scored."

Carra On The Score Sheet

9 Dec 2006 Liverpool 4-0 Fulham - EPL

BBC - The visitors probably had the best first-half chance when Brian McBride's shot was well saved by Jose Reina. But on 52 minutes Dirk Kuyt's shot was handled by Ian Pearce and although Jan Lastuvka saved Steven Gerrard's penalty the Reds captain netted the rebound. Seven minutes later Jamie Carragher popped up to score, with Luis Garcia's header making it 3-0, before Mark Gonzalez's free-kick completed the win.

Carra: "It's my first Premiership goal this century which is a bit embarrassing to be honest! The important thing today was to win the game and so for us to do that and for me to score was the icing on the cake really. I get forward for more corners these days so hopefully I can get on the end of a few more things in the future. The big thing was the victory today and we're delighted with the result. I think we have to credit our goalkeeper though because he made a great save from McBride's shot in the first half. I thought it was going in to be honest, and if Pepe hadn't saved it then we'd have been 1-0 down and it would have been a different game.
"It's been a good day for us because we've scored four goals and kept another clean sheet. We just have to keep going, keep working hard and keep winning. We're probably a bit too far behind the front two now but third place is anybody's. If we can get there and then string a great run together, you never know what can happen. If both of the top two slip up and we get good results then you just don't know."

Dose anyone notice that Agger assisted two goals? He's my Man of the Match! Great young lad, keep going!

What A Return For Fowler!

5 Dec 2006 Galatasaray 3-2 Liverpool - CL Group Stage

BBC - Liverpool's Champions League group phase ended with a tame defeat against Galatasaray in Istanbul. Robbie Fowler gave Liverpool, who already topped Group C, the lead after 21 minutes when he bundled home Craig Bellamy's left-wing cross. But Necati Ates slid home an equaliser two minutes later and Okan Buruk's 25-yard volley made it 2-1. Sasa Ilic punished poor Liverpool defending to score 12 minutes from time before Fowler snatched a late second.

Let's Start A Run From Here

2 Dec 2006 Wigan 0-4 Liverpool - EPL

BBC - Liverpool routed Wigan to pick up their first league away win of the season - The visitors were 4-0 up at half-time with Craig Bellamy scoring Liverpool's first two goals with a couple of neat side-footed finishes. Bellamy also had a hand in the third goal when, in a move that began with keeper Jose Reina, the Welshman set up Dutchman Dirk Kuyt to fire home. Lee McCulloch's own goal ended an awful first half for Wigan, who hit the post through an Emile Heskey shot late on.
