Carra On The Score Sheet

9 Dec 2006 Liverpool 4-0 Fulham - EPL

BBC - The visitors probably had the best first-half chance when Brian McBride's shot was well saved by Jose Reina. But on 52 minutes Dirk Kuyt's shot was handled by Ian Pearce and although Jan Lastuvka saved Steven Gerrard's penalty the Reds captain netted the rebound. Seven minutes later Jamie Carragher popped up to score, with Luis Garcia's header making it 3-0, before Mark Gonzalez's free-kick completed the win.

Carra: "It's my first Premiership goal this century which is a bit embarrassing to be honest! The important thing today was to win the game and so for us to do that and for me to score was the icing on the cake really. I get forward for more corners these days so hopefully I can get on the end of a few more things in the future. The big thing was the victory today and we're delighted with the result. I think we have to credit our goalkeeper though because he made a great save from McBride's shot in the first half. I thought it was going in to be honest, and if Pepe hadn't saved it then we'd have been 1-0 down and it would have been a different game.
"It's been a good day for us because we've scored four goals and kept another clean sheet. We just have to keep going, keep working hard and keep winning. We're probably a bit too far behind the front two now but third place is anybody's. If we can get there and then string a great run together, you never know what can happen. If both of the top two slip up and we get good results then you just don't know."

Dose anyone notice that Agger assisted two goals? He's my Man of the Match! Great young lad, keep going!
