Pennant and Kuyt Secured Three Points

7 Apr 2007 Reading 1-2 Liverpool - EPL

Sky Sports - Dirk Kuyt's late goal gave Liverpool a hard-fought 2-1 win over Reading in their first ever visit to The Madejski Stadium. The Dutchman popped up four minutes from time to grab the winner and end his goal drought after going eight games without a goal. a goal. Alvaro Arbeloa gave Liverpool a first-half lead with his first goal for the club, but Brynjar Gunnarsson drew Reading level early in the second half before Kuyt secured the points for Liverpool late on.

It's once again proved that starting Mascherano and Momo in the centre is a bad idea, isn't it. Momo had a terrible game today I think apart from a pass to Gerrard (or Kuyt?) around the box. It wan't a good performance for us but glad we got the whole three points. Two subs Kuyt and Pennant saved our day. By the way, Chelsea win, Man U and Arsenal both lost. What a results! I'm backing Chelsea to win the title this time, but European cup is still ours.

I do agree that both Mascherano and Sissoko can't play together. They don't seems suited to play in the middle for us. Maybe their style is the same? I don't know..

Yes, Man Utd lost and I do hope that Chelsea is able to win the title. Same sentiments as you, the Champions League is coming back to Anfield..

Cheers, ;)

What a last day of the Premiership we might have on our hands. Man U at Stamford Bridge ... a real cracker!

Everyone knows my thoughts on Sissoko and my views were again confirmed by his performance.

Loving Pennant's form too, now to get Harry fit and playing well on the left and it'll be a pretty balanced side reading for a full tilt at Cup #6!

My fellow Reds!

What a weekend! Man Utd losing, Arsenal losing! I'm loving it. If Man Utd get knocked out by Roma I'll be the happiest man on earth!

louis, yeah i think so. they're both defensive. and it's awful to see momo gets forward.. because he just couldn't pass the ball. though people would praise him for getting the ball back with brilliant tackles, but he shouldn't lose it in the first place.

Tim, don't know why Rafa didn't start Pennant on the right. i still miss the systm used in Arsenal game. thought that was our best performance this season so far. btw, i've heard harry may be back for the last few games this season?

yeekiat! haha, i'd love to see Chelsea got knocked out this week as well. but facing Valencia will make me more nervous then against Chelsea in the semi.

who do you guys fancy, Chelski or Valencia?

I'll be cheering on Roma and Valencia with all my might for sure.

Couldn't agree more about the system used in the Arsenal game Amy. Having Gerrard sit in behind the striker while have two wingers just makes sense to me.

Oh well, can't complain too much at the moment, the boys keep on winning.
