Niko Kranjcar chested down a long ball and finished with aplomb as Pompey went further ahead before Boudewijn Zenden's shot hit the crossbar for Liverpool. Sami Hyypia headed in as the Reds fought back but some stubborn defending helped Pompey to victory.
