Gerrard's First Of The League

25 Nov 2006 Liverpool 1-0 Man City - EPL

BBC - Gerrard crashed a swerving shot past Nicky Weaver after Dutchman Dirk Kuyt intercepted Joey Barton's poor pass. Before the goal City had frustrated Liverpool and might have taken the lead themselves had Bernardo Corradi taken a couple of reasonable chances. Georgios Samaras also went close with a clever shot in the last 10 minutes.

Stevie G is back to his best I think - there were some rumours going about concerning his girl freind (wife?) and an affair - and this was throwing him off his game along with being on the right - but last 4 games he's looked sharp and think the goals will flow now - got some less tricky fixtures coming up too.

she was alledgedly sleeping with a local club bouncer who was supplying her with cocaine and there were even rumours about the paternity of his child with her.

because such stories are libelous and based on gossip they aren't substantiated in the press - but there was so much chatter about it all over the place (forums, pubs, emails) that it seemed to carry weight - or it was an example of the age we live in and how quick false info an spread with the technology available.

BUT he didn't look happy & was distratced first few months of the season - he has only just come back into form - could be the world cup hangover and being on the right... but smoke,fire etc

similar thing surfaced recently about John Terry and what he actually said to Ledley King before getting swiftly sent off a few weeks back - not able to surface in the press - but plenty of talk and rumour to suggest there was good reason for zorka, chimbonda and king all to go mental and Terry to walk off without arguing....

that sounds horrible... but i think Gerrard is easily get distracted by things outside the pitch. he cares so much how people see him. have read about him playing out of form some seasons ago because of the break-up of his parents.

well hopefully rumours stay as rumours, and Gerrard can bring out his best on the pitch.

and about Terry. yeah, must be something really bad... he looked as if he already knew it's a sent-off.
