US Open 4th Round & Quarter-final

4th round:
Andre Agassi (USA) bt Xavier Malisse 6-3 6-4 6-7 4-6 6-2
Lleyton Hewitt (Aus) bt Dominik Hrbaty (Svk) 6-1 6-4 6-2
Roger Federer (Swi) bt Nicolas Kiefer (Ger) 6-4 6-7 6-3 6-4

I was expecting Kierfer to beat Federer. He did well, and he's the only one so far in this tournament who has won ONE set from Federer!

Quarter-final:
BBC: Agassi survives epic Blake battle - The 35-year-old fought back from two sets down and then 3-0 behind in the tiebreak to beat his compatriot 3-6 3-6 6-3 6-3 7-6 (8-6).

It was really a great match! It's probably the best mens single in US Open 2005 so far. We saw a legendary man who never gave up in his 20th year of this tournament!

Lleyton Hewitt (Aus) bt Jarkko Nieminen (Fin) 2-6 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-1
Roger Federer (Swi) bt David Nalbandian (Arg) 6-2 6-4 6-1

Finland's left-handed Nieminen is a dangerous rival. He's even not a seed, but he can bring troubles to top players. Hewitt won through 5 sets again. I did worry about him, but as I heard his trademark, 'Come on!!' came out at the begining of the fifth set, I knew he ruled. As for Federer's quater-final, I couldn't believe he won that easily over Nalbandian! It's obvious that his in his best form. Well, the least one I would like to see in the semi-final: Hewitt is going to play against Federer!!

Kim Clijsters (Bel) bt Venus Williams (USA) 4-6 7-5 6-1
Elena Dementieva (Rus) bt Lindsay Davenport (USA) 6-1 3-6 7-6

Oh no!! My favorite, Davenport was out!! It's a pitty! I thought she could win the title this time. While Clijsters and Williams had a great match! Another valuable comeback in the quater-final! She will face Sharapova next in the last 4. Hope she can win and end that noisy Russian girl. (Sorry, if there is her fan here.)
