(This is Anfield on 20 Aug, 2005 before the match against Sunderland.)The fans want to free Michael Shields or Michael Owen?
Both I guess.
David Moyes today stated: "We have been in contact with Michael and his advisers." "Unfortunately he does not see Everton as a team he would choose at this present time."
Come on, Owen is a legend of Anfiled. There is no reason to play for Everton! Can they provide Europe chance for him? No. Premierleague title? No. FA Cup or Carling Cup or whatever....? No. Sorry, Everton.
!Update! 24 Aug, 2005 BBC: Newcastle have revealed they have agreed a club record fee with Real Madrid for England's Michael Owen.
Owen: "I said that my ideal situation was to start the season in the Real Madrid team and if not I would prefer to return to Liverpool."
"If the transfer cannot be finalised in time I have agreed to go to Newcastle."
Please...Benitez...do something..
